Chess, shogi, Go: three boards, three ways to think
Children learn chess, shogi, and Go, three classic strategy games from different traditions. Each board asks a child to plan ahead, weigh choices and learn from the result. Together they build a broad strategic toolkit, all without a screen.
-
A / 8×8
Chess
Sixteen pieces a side, each with its own way of moving. Spot the threat before it lands.
-
B / 9×9
Shogi
Captured pieces join your side and can return to the board as drops. Nothing is gone for good.
-
C / 19×19
Go
Black and white stones placed on line crossings. Few rules, and territory that unfolds slowly.
Wood, stones and paper only · no screens

Every March, the boards come out
Each March the academy hosts a seasonal tournament, a chance for students to put their skills into play. It gives children a friendly goal to prepare for all year. Details for the next event will be shared with families.

Screen-free learning that fits a busy week
After a day of school and devices, children sit face to face across a real board. Classes are scheduled for after-school hours, and the belt system keeps parents informed without extra effort. It is focused, social thinking time for the whole family to feel good about.
