Fund her seat. Watch her cross.

A school uniform is a bridge. We fund secondary school scholarships and mentorship for girls from informal settlements in Kenya, and help them get into the classroom and stay there until graduation.

What we do

Three things that keep a girl in class.

Many girls in Nairobi’s informal settlements pass their primary exams and then never start secondary school, because the costs add up faster than a family’s income. We close that gap, and we stay beside her until she graduates.

Pay the costs that block the door

Scholarships cover school uniforms, shoes, textbooks, stationery and national exam fees, so no girl is sent home for something she can’t afford.

Pair her with a mentor

Every scholar meets regularly with a woman mentor who helps with study habits, tough decisions and thinking about what comes after school.

Stay with her to graduation

We check in with families and schools every term, and we support each scholar through exams and into her next step: college, training or work.

Student stories

In their own words.

Scholars share what a seat in class has meant. Names are changed to protect their privacy.

“When my uniform arrived I tried it on three times. Now I walk to school like I belong there, because I do.”
Amina, Form 1
“My mentor taught me to plan my revision. I used to panic about exams. Now I have a timetable on the wall.”
Wanjiru, Form 3
“I want to be a nurse in my own neighbourhood. Someone paying my fees made that sound possible.”
Achieng, Form 4
