colors gathered, not bought

Our glaze colors come from seaweed ash and beach clay gathered locally around Falmouth. Because the materials come from the shore, the colors carry the character of the place and vary from batch to batch. It is slow, hands-on work, and it is why no two firings look quite the same.

made in rhythm, not in a rush

We work on a rolling 6-week production cycle and take pre-orders for each run. Your pieces are made, glazed and fired in small batches rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf. It means a wait, and it means your set was made for you.

two makers on the harbor front

We throw, glaze and fire everything ourselves.

Tidewrack is a two-person studio on the harbor front in Falmouth, Cornwall. We gather our own materials from the nearby shore, so the seaweed ash and beach clay in a glaze were on the tideline before they were on a pot. Come and see where the work happens.
