01 / The walk

The road is the destination.

For centuries, travelers, officials and merchants moved between Japan’s post towns on foot. We follow those same trails, such as the Nakasendō, at walking pace. Our tours are for people who would rather understand a place than tick it off.

Sleep under a family’s roof.

We stay in family-run minshuku inns rather than large hotels. Evenings are spent with the people who live along the route.

It’s a quieter, more personal way to experience the places you have walked to.
