§ 01 · The subject
Chess, shogi, Go: three boards, three ways to think
Children learn chess, shogi and Go, three classic strategy games from different traditions. Each board asks a child to plan ahead, weigh choices and learn from the result. Together they build a broad strategic toolkit, all without a screen.

Plate 01 · Chess
Chess
Two armies on a checkered field. Plan ahead: every move opens some doors and closes others.
-
Plate 02 · Shogi
Shogi
Japan’s own chess-like game. Weigh choices: a captured piece can return to the board under your colour.
-
Plate 03 · Go
Go
Black and white stones set on the crossings. Learn from the result: the board shows plainly what each stone did.
“Plan ahead. Weigh choices. Learn from the result.”
